Position Overview 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assurance Associate to join our team. The Assurance Associate will be responsible for supporting senior staff in planning and executing audit engagements, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and providing high-quality assurance services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities 

Engagement Management 

• Assist in planning and executing audit and assurance engagements for nonprofit organizations and government entities. 

• Conduct fieldwork, including testing internal controls, gathering audit evidence, and performing substantive testing. 

• Prepare clear and concise working papers documenting audit findings and procedures. 

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and other applicable frameworks. 

• Communicate effectively with clients to gather information and explain audit procedures. 

• Stay informed on relevant accounting and auditing standards, as well as industry-specific regulations. 

• Collaborate with team members to identify areas for improvement in audit processes and client services. 

• Assist in the preparation of management letters and reports communicating findings to clients. 

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 

• Accounting internship or relevant experience preferred. 

• Knowledge of accounting principles and auditing standards, particularly in the nonprofit and government sectors. 

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with accounting software is a plus. 

• Willingness to pursue CPA certification is preferred.
